demonstrate \r\n      that it could now be classified as one of the <strong>essential amino acids<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;in \r\n      adults.\r\n    <\/p>\r\n    <h2>\r\n      Functions of histidine\r\n    <\/h2>\r\n    <p>\r\n      This amino acid precursor to HISTAMINE, essential for haemoglobin \r\n      synthesis and tissue repair has many functions:\r\n    <\/p>\r\n    <ul>\r\n      <li>\r\n        It allows the <strong>detoxification of heavy metals<\/strong>(nickel, tin, \r\n        aluminium and corrects excess copper and iron).\r\n      <\/li>\r\n      <li>\r\n        It <strong>stimulates the secretion of gastric juices <\/strong>and also enters \r\n        into the composition of trypsin, a pancreatic enzyme which allows the \r\n        digestion of proteins.\r\n      <\/li>\r\n      <li>\r\n        <strong>Anti-anxiety agent<\/strong>, it plays the role of a natural <strong>tranquilliser<\/strong>, \r\n        like tryptophan and glycine.\r\n      <\/li>\r\n      <li>\r\n        It <strong>stimulates libido <\/strong>in both men and women (once converted to \r\n        histamine, it becomes the chemical responsible for triggering orgasm).\r\n      <\/li>\r\n
