Weight Loss Makes Men More Masculine

by damien

Having a model-like body for men is just as essential as for women. Indeed, being fat or overweight diminishes self-confidence in men too. Excess weight is said to make men less masculine, because fat carries a hormonal balance in favour of estradiol and systematically reduces the level of testosterone, the hormone that causes virility in men.

If an overweight man decides to diet and exercise in order to reach his BMI (Body Mass Index), in this adventure he will be more masculine already in his state of mind than in his body itself. Physical appearance is one thing, but what can't be seen, he will feel through his hormones.

Losing weight will systematically change the way he thinks and acts. This increase in confidence is a considerable advantage. It will be a sort of rebirth for this individual. And despite the extra fat from before, testosterone levels would increase when the body loses fat mass. So weight loss and muscle building will create a new man who will feel powerful and more masculine.

Relation between body fat and the hormones testosterone and estradiol

In general, excess body fat is a result of the diet of the person affected. This excess fat, on the other hand, disrupts the proper functioning of various organs, especially certain hormones that the body reproduces.

Testosterone, for example, is a hormone that is naturally produced by the body. In both men and women, it is important to have a certain level for the body to function properly. In men, this hormone is secreted by the testicles but it is the brain through the pituitary gland and the hypothalamus that will determine the level of testosterone produced by the body.

Estradiol or oestradiol is also a hormone naturally produced by the body. And it is inseparable from testosterone. Why is it so?

Because it is a natural by-product of the metabolism of cholesterol through testosterone. Its main role is to maintain fertility and secondary sexual characteristics. And as with all hormones, the production of estradiol is controlled by the brain. Estradiol communicates to the brain the existence of abundant steroid hormones circulating in the blood.

As a result, the brain systematically reacts to this high level of estradiol by decreasing the level of LH (luteinising hormone) and FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) that it secretes. These two hormones (LH and FSH) stimulate the production of testosterone and sperm in the testicles.

Therefore, if these two hormones are low, the man's testosterone level automatically drops. According to some studies, being overweight contributes to this decrease in sex hormone production, which leads to a decrease in fertility and all kinds of sexual problems.

Following this information, it is therefore normal if a person, more precisely an overweight man will gradually lose the masculinity in him.

The more fat there is in the body, the more hormones will not be produced as they should. Fat will be a factor that will decrease its production. Scientifically speaking, fat cells contain the enzyme that transforms testosterone, which is the male sex hormone, into estradiol, which is also present in women.

And mind you, the more overweight men are, the less testosterone they produce and therefore there is a systematic decrease of estradiol in the body as well.

Scientific links between weight loss, testosterone and estradiol

As it has already been scientifically proven that there is a connection between weight loss, testosterone and estradiol. All that remains is to find solutions to get the metabolism back on track.

Weight loss is the first and most effective solution. To prove this, a study has been carried out which shows that fat men become more masculine after losing weight. Danish endocrinologists from the University of Aarhus conducted this experiment on 43 men between the ages of 20 and 59 whose BMI was well above normal.

During the experiment, the men were put on a diet with a specific exercise programme after 14 weeks in an attempt to lose weight. At the beginning of their journey, the researchers took into account the hormone levels and sperm quality of these men. At that time, the BMI was too high and the values were poor, far from normal.

Throughout this scientific experiment, the researchers repeated the measurements for 27 individuals after the study was completed. The result is significant. As a result of their considerable weight loss, the men became more fertile and their testosterone levels rose.

In addition to feeling good about their bodies and regaining their self-confidence, these men are now more masculine than before. This is a great experiment that proves that weight loss in men contributes enormously to their sex life.

In conclusion, this experiment confirms that losing weight in men is beneficial to their sexuality. And that the excess weight beforehand will have no consequences with regard to hormone production once the excess weight is gone.

According to the researchers, androgens tend to improve after weight loss. This change potentially leads to a considerable improvement in sperm quality in men. Therefore, lifestyle changes, exercises and diets are necessary for overweight men if they want to improve their masculinity and regain their virility.

It is therefore advisable to take care of one's body, watch one's weight and not exceed the BMI in order to ensure masculinity.
