In the United States, "juicing" is all the rage, with many "juice bars" opening in major cities. Fruit juices, vegetable juices, mixtures of the two, but also "smoothies", juices in which milk is incorporated into these cocktails, cow's milk or soya milk, or even yoghurt. Juicing for a successful DETOX ?
Fruit and vegetables: drink them!
Juicing
In the United States, "juicing" is fashionable, and many "juice bars" are opening in the big cities.Fruit juices, vegetable juices, mixtures of the two, but also "smoothies", juices in which milk is added to these cocktails, cow's milk or soya milk, or even yoghurt.
This trend has spread to our country, which is aware of the benefits of "5 fruits and vegetables a day".The easiest way is to buy these juices in bottles in "organic" shops, but the ideal is to prepare them yourself.
DETOX Effect
By drinking such juices, we kill two birds with one stone: we enjoy ourselves and we fill up with vitamins, minerals, enzymes, fibres, antioxidants such as polyphenols and other anthocyanins that these raw and fresh foods contain.
Our health capital is thus stimulated, as fruit and vegetable juices have a "DETOX effect" which induces a real purification of the body.
Without forgetting a guaranteed anti-fatigue action, a tonus and energy stimulation in synergy with the beneficial effects of each fruit, of each vegetable.
Centrifuge or extractor ?
Centrifuges have one advantage, their low cost. But they have a big defect, a very high speed of rotation, up to 15,000 rpm, which causes heating that affects the enzymes, key elements of these juices.
It is better to opt for an extractor, despite their price, because their low speed of rotation, about 80 rpm, is respectful of the components. There are also "blenders", but these are more intended to produce fruit or vegetable puree, not juice.
In practice
It is strongly recommended to keep the skin of the food from which you want to extract the juice. This is why only "organic" fruit and vegetables should be used. After washing and brushing, it is best to cut them into small pieces.
It is best to use freshly squeezed juice as soon as it comes out of the juicer or extractor.
Otherwise, it can be kept in the refrigerator, but not longer than 24 hours. To slow down its oxidation, you can add a little lemon juice.
If you want to mix fruits or vegetables, or even better, if you want to combine both (fruits & vegetables) in the same juice, rely on your inspiration.
Only one principle should guide you: use seasonal fruits and vegetables.
Refer to the attached list of fruits and vegetables to make your personal DETOX mixes according to your specific needs regarding your possible health problems, the DETOX being the first and fundamental step on the road to recovery.
