Green Tea, The Sacred Drink

by damien

To be able to attend the tea ceremony is an intense moment, a ritual. It is the proof of a deep respect of the host for his guests, and of a deep respect of all for nature. The preparation table, I can almost say the altar, is in itself a work of art. Most often carved from a hundred-year-old tree.

On the scientific side, there are obviously all the reasons for this ritual. Caffeine, theobromine and theophylline are alkaloids that are ideally extracted at around 60°C.

They are known to be responsible for the metabolic accelerating effect of green tea. Their consumption slightly increases the body temperature, activates all physiological functions and helps to burn more energy. This means a reduction in fat reserves and better overall oxygenation of the body. It is as if we were increasing our body engine.

Green tea is often considered as a super food.

It also contains tannins, polyphenols, whose anti-oxidant effects are beneficial. Free radical scavengers, they participate in their elimination.
Finally, green tea provides pigments, chlorophyll and carotenoids. They are for the body a precious help to the cellular respiration and to the flexibility of the micro blood vessels.
